Sorting Shapes

I was so excited about this today. Oksana has started correctly identifying and sorting shapes! Great for her English skills and her development! She was not able to do this AT ALL before today. I love how she says "There it is!" every time she finds the right spot for the shape. This is also the first time I've seen her not just frantically throw things together but really look and find solutions. We are going to try to get her something more advanced and with more shapes soon.

Here are some fun pictures of her swinging with her brothers...her new favorite past time!

What a joy it must be to watch her progress. You'll be so glad to have videos to refer back to, because I'm sure she is going to learn rapidly.
Yeah Oksana!

Good job Oksana!!! (and mom ;)

Melissa and Doug make a wooden shape sorter, it has 12 or 15 shapes on it. Each shape is a diffferent color too, so DOUBLE learning!! (it's on AMazon, not super pricey!)

Love it! And I will say her speech is pretty amazing (because she knows shapes and is trying to say them after only a few weeks!)
I will always be amazed at how quickly children learn when they are finally given time and attention!
And Andy looked at her and said, "Wow, she already looks so much prettier" We can see it in her face. She is not the same little girl I saw 7 months ago, she really does "look" different (regardless of the haircut!)
As for the sorter Lyndi mentioned...funny, I bought that one at the corner toy store in Ukraine.
