Day 2 - In Anya's region!
This is going to be pretty picture heavy so get ready :). We started our day walking around Sofia in a different direction and took some street shots. For those of you who have been to Kiev, Sofia is not as nice but still interesting.
Our hotel:
Then we went down to the restaurant for a breakfast buffet. This was not entirely what you would expect from a buffet in America. They did have eggs, french toast, cereal, muffins, and fruit. However they also had veggies, cheese, cold cuts, and some yogurt thing with cucumbers in it.
Black olives for Breakfast? Sure why not!
After breakfast we were picked up for our journey to Anya's region. It was a beautiful drive! We went through the mountains..often through tunnels that cut right through them. This picture really doesn't do it justice.
We saw tons of little mountain villages, random horses pulling carts on the highway, and of course the highlight of our day was the Flintstones gas station complete with a turkish toilet which I did take a picture of for my kids...and no, I didn't use it!
Don't ask about the liquid in front of it. I'd rather not speculate on what it is!
This is our driver, who is a very sweet man, hanging out in Fred's car!
Other happenings on our drive included horse sightings so I had to get a picture of at least one for Evan, lunch that included fries covered in yummy, yummmy Bulgarian cheese, and stopping to ask for directions to our hotel!
We finally arrived at our hotel and got settled into our room.
Then we took a walk down to see the Black Sea...definitely a highlight of this trip so far!
We grabbed some dinner, Skyped with the kids, and now we are getting ready for the big day! Tomorrow morning we are to arrive at the orphanage at 10 am. I don't have a ton of details about what to expect but we are very excited to finally meet Anya face to face so get ready for another picture overload!!!

Yay!!! Welcome! Can't wait to see pictures. And my husband says that he's astonished you didn't get any tomatoes with breakfast. They're his favorite part. :-):-) Big day tomorrow! I almost wish I was there with you to see Jordan's first home again. But soooooo glad to be home.
